Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball

Hey, y'all! We love cheese balls here in the south. That said, not all cheese balls are savory - they can also be dessert! I'm excited to share the recipe for my Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball with y'all today. This is one of my favorite party foods!

Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball Ingredients

  • 8 oz. cream cheese, room temperature
  • ½ c. butter, softened
  • ½ tsp. vanilla
  • ¾ c. confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 tbsp. brown sugar
  • ¾ c. mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ¾ c. finely-chopped pecans
  • Graham crackers/Nilla wafers, for dipping

How to Make a Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, butter, and vanilla until fluffy.
  2. Gradually add sugars, beating until combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for 2-4 hours.
  4. Place cream cheese mixture onto a large piece of plastic wrap; shape into a ball.
  5. Refrigerate for another hour (or more!).
  6. Just before serving, remove the plastic wrap and roll the cheese ball in chopped pecans.
  7. Serve with graham crackers or Nilla wafers.

    What a fun and unique way to enjoy dessert. My guests loved this recipe and everyone said it reminded them of cheesecake, which we love! I served this with Nilla wafers, but next time I might also offer guests graham crackers so they have an assortment. Great recipe!
