Ingredients

  • 1 granny smith apple cored and diced into 1″ pieces
  • 1 red delicious apple cored and diced into 1″ pieces
  • 1 c. fresh cranberries
  • 1 cinnamon stick plus more for garnish
  • ½ c. simple syrup
  • 1 c. unsweetened apple cider
  • 750 ml Pinot Grigio
  • 375 ml Sparkling Wine or Brut Champagne chilled
  • ¼ cup cinnamon sugar for an optional rim, garnish

Instructions

  • Add diced apples, cranberries, and a cinnamon stick to a pitcher.
  • Pour in ½ cup simple syrup, 1 cup apple cider, and the bottle of Pinot Grigio into the pitcher and stir to combine.
  • Place the pitcher in the refrigerator and allow it to sit for a minimum of 6 hours but no more than 24 hours.
  • Before serving, add the Brut Champagne or Sparkling Wine into the pitcher, stir together and serve with an optional cinnamon sugar rim.

Notes

  • If the apples in the fridge lose their freshness or color, remove them from the pitcher and replace with fresh ones before pouring in the champagne or sparkling wine.
  • Feel free to substitute the simple syrup with ¼ cup of sugar or honey, or skip it altogether.
  • Additionally, for a twist, consider using pomegranate seeds instead of fresh cranberries.
