Ingredients

  • 1 pound hot sausage or mild sausage
  • 2 cans refrigerated biscuits
  • ½ cup shredded mild cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a standard muffin tin with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Cook the sausage in a large skillet over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Drain most of the grease, then transfer the sausage to a large mixing bowl.
  • Add the mild cheddar, sharp cheddar, softened cream cheese, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir until the mixture is well combined.
  • Separate each biscuit and split it in half horizontally. Press each piece into a muffin cup, working the dough up the sides to form a small cup.
  • Evenly divide the sausage mixture among the biscuit cups.
  • Bake for 13–15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
  • Let cool for a few minutes before serving warm.

Notes

  • Let the cream cheese soften before mixing so it blends easily with the sausage.
  • Don't overfill the biscuit cups or the filling may bubble over while baking.
  • Use hot sausage for extra flavor or substitute mild sausage for a less spicy version.
  • Spray the muffin tin well to make removing the bites easy.
