Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to make a homemade graham cracker crust?

Absolutely not. I do think that homemade graham cracker crust is fabulous (simply combine crushed graham crackers + melted butter); however, I almost always purchase a pre-made graham cracker crust. They are inexpensive – usually around $2 at your local grocery store – and absolutely delicious. Look for one that isn’t cracked/crumbled, as that is common.

Can I make this dessert lighter/healthier?

While few desserts are “healthy” in the pie realm, you can certainly make a lighter version of this. You can use low-fat or fat-free cream cheese; less sugar; and fat-free frozen whipped topping.

I prefer other nut butters to peanut butter. Can I substitute?

100%! Use the nut butter of your choice. The ingredient quantity will remain the same.

How long do I need to refrigerate the pie?

I would chill this pie for at minimum one hour prior to serving. That said, you can also place it in the freezer until firm for a quicker fix!
