Hey, y'all! Looking for your next dinner on the grill? It doesn't get easier - or more delicious - than my Grilled Beer Brats. Y'all are going to love them!
Grilled Beer Brats

Grilled Beer Brats: Ingredients
- 6 bratwurst sausages
- 12 ounces beer
- 2 orange or red bell peppers, sliced
- 1 vidalia onion, sliced
- optional: hot dog buns, mustard/ketchup

How to Make Grilled Beer Brats
- Place a cast iron skillet on your grill and allow it to get hot. While heating, grill the bratwursts until charred on either side, roughly 3-4 minutes/side.
- After bratwursts are charred, add them to the cast iron skillet on the grill. Add sliced peppers and onions and pour the beer over top of everything. Make sure peppers and onions are down in the beer, allowing them to caramelize.
- Cook undisturbed for roughly 20-25 minutes, which will allow the beer to reduce.
- Serve brats with peppers + onions on top. You can eat them without bread or on a hot dog bun. Enjoy!

Pro Tips For Making This Recipe
- Make sure the peppers and onions are down in the beer when placed in the cast iron skillet; you will want them to caramelize!
- The brats, peppers, and onions need not be flipped or stirred around; simply let them cook undisturbed.
Frequently Asked Questions
What type of beer should I use when making beer brats?
Use the beer of your choice, as you will want to enjoy the flavor profile of the beer. That said, I do not recommend using an IPA, as the hoppy profile will be overpowering.
