Grilled Beer Brats

How to Make Grilled Beer Brats

  1. Place a cast iron skillet on your grill and allow it to get hot. While heating, grill the bratwursts until charred on either side, roughly 3-4 minutes/side.
  2. After bratwursts are charred, add them to the cast iron skillet on the grill. Add sliced peppers and onions and pour the beer over top of everything. Make sure peppers and onions are down in the beer, allowing them to caramelize.
  3. Cook undisturbed for roughly 20-25 minutes, which will allow the beer to reduce.
  4. Serve brats with peppers + onions on top. You can eat them without bread or on a hot dog bun. Enjoy!

Hey, y’all! I’m Dr. JC Phelps, though most folks on the internet know me as JCP Eats. I’m a proud Kentuckian, a fiercely loyal Southerner, and quite possibly the biggest mayonnaise fan below the Mason-Dixon Line. I started JCP Eats as a place to share the recipes, traditions, and flavors I grew up with, along with the dishes that have found a permanent place at my table. I’m so glad you’re here. Welcome to my Kentucky kitchen!
