Cinnamon Raisin Pretzel Bites

Ingredients: Cinnamon Raisin Pretzel Bites

For the pretzels:

  • 3.5 c. all-purpose flour
  • ½ c. raisins
  • ⅔ c. warm water
  • ¼ c. warm milk
  • 3 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • ½ tbsp. active dry yeast
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 3 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tbsp. cinnamon
  • butter, melted, for brushing

For the baking soda bath:

  • ½ c. baking soda
  • water

For the dipping sauce (optional):

  • ¾ c. powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2-3 tbsp. milk

How to Make Cinnamon Raisin Pretzel Bites

  1. Combine water, milk, vegetable oil, yeast, salt, sugar, cinnamon, and half of the flour in a mixer bowl. Mix well with a dough hook attachment.
  2. Gradually add remaining flour until dough is slightly sticky but not sticking to fingers.
  3. Knead dough for 3-4 minutes, then mix in raisins.
  4. Place dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with saran wrap, and let rise for 1 hour.
  5. Remove dough, knead a few times, form into a ball, and cut into 8 pieces.
  6. Roll each piece into a strip and cut into 6-8 pieces.
  7. Prepare a baking soda bath by boiling water and slowly adding ½ cup baking soda.
  8. Place each pretzel piece in the bath for 30 seconds, then transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush each piece with melted butter.
  9. Bake at 400°F for 10-12 minutes.
  10. Make a dipping sauce with 1 cup powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 2-3 tablespoon milk.
  11. Serve warm and enjoy!
