Ingredients

  • 1 ⅓ c. loose Lipton tea needs to be loose tea
  • 4.5 c. boiling water
  • 4.5 c. sugar

Instructions

  • Steep the loose Lipton tea in water for 5 minutes. Strain through a coffee filter.
  • Add the sugar and stir until fully dissolved. Store sweet tea syrup in a syrup dispenser in the refrigerator.
  • To serve, add a small amount of syrup over ice in a glass and fill with water. Stir and serve with a lemon wedge. You will sweeten to taste; the more syrup you add, the sweeter the tea.

Notes

  • You need to use loose leaf tea for this recipe. I always use Lipton.
  • Adjust the amount of syrup that you put in your glass based on how sweet you like your tea. You can always add more - be conservative in the beginning!
