Ingredients

  • 4 ½ Green Apples
  • 5 Snickers Bars regular-sized
  • 3.4 oz. Box Vanilla Pudding
  • 1 ¾ c. Whole Milk
  • 8 oz. Whipped Topping
  • ¼ c. Caramel Sauce

Instructions

  • Wash, core, and chop the apples into bite-sized pieces, leaving the peel on.
  • Chop the Snickers bars into bite-sized pieces as well, then set both aside. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the pudding mix and milk until the mixture thickens, which should take about 2 minutes.
  • Gently fold in the whipped topping until the pudding mixture is smooth and fully combined.
  • Set aside 1 cup of the chopped apples and add the remaining apples to the pudding mixture.
  • Reserve 1 chopped Snickers bar and add the rest to the pudding mixture.
  • Carefully fold the apple and Snickers pieces into the pudding mixture until they are evenly distributed.
  • Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving.
  • When ready to serve, transfer the salad to a serving bowl. Top with the reserved chopped apples and Snickers pieces, then drizzle caramel sauce evenly over the top. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Only add the garnish right before serving. If you plan to store the salad, keep it ungarnished to maintain its appearance. Store it in the fridge in an airtight container for up to two days, but no longer. The chocolate can start to break down, which might make the salad look less appealing, though it will still taste good. Do not freeze the salad.
  • Feel free to adjust the amount and type of apples or candy bars in the salad. It’s a flexible recipe that you can easily make your own.
  • For an even richer flavor, swap out the vanilla pudding for cheesecake-flavored pudding. It adds an extra layer of indulgence.
  • This salad is typically made with the apple peel left on, but if you prefer a smoother texture, you can peel the apples before adding them. It won't affect the overall taste.
  • Make sure to chill the salad for at least an hour before serving. This helps the flavors meld together and the pudding to set properly.
  • For added texture, consider mixing in some chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts. They add a nice crunch that complements the soft apples and creamy pudding.
