Ingredients
  

  • 3 cans Bush's Original Baked Beans 28 oz.
  • 8 slices bacon cooked and chopped
  • ½ c. ketchup
  • c. yellow mustard
  • c. brown sugar
  • ¼ c. molasses
  • 4 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 vidalia onion chopped
  • kosher salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • garlic powder to taste
  • red pepper flakes to taste

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  • Drain about one-third to one-half of the liquid from the baked beans. Add the beans, bacon, onion, mustard, ketchup, brown sugar, molasses, and Worcestershire sauce to a large baking dish and stir until well combined.
  • Season to taste with kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes.
  • Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the beans are hot, bubbly, and lightly caramelized on top.
  • Serve warm.

Notes

  • Drain some of the liquid from the beans before mixing to keep the finished dish thick and flavorful.
  • Cook the bacon until crisp so it holds its texture while baking.
  • Use a sweet Vidalia onion for the best balance of flavor.
  • Taste the mixture before baking and adjust the seasonings to your preference.
  • Bake until the top is bubbly and lightly caramelized for the best texture and flavor.
  • Make the beans a day ahead if needed, as the flavors become even better after resting overnight.
