Ingredients

  • 2 cucumber slices
  • 1 lime wedge
  • 2 oz. gin
  • 4 oz. tonic water

Instructions

  • Add the cucumber slices and lime wedge to a cocktail shaker. Muddle well to release the juices.
  • Pour in the gin and fill the shaker with ice.
  • Shake vigorously for about 10 seconds. Strain into a glass filled with ice.
  • Top with tonic water and stir gently to combine.
  • Garnish with a cucumber ribbon or lime wheel, if desired.

Notes

  • Never shake the tonic water, as adding it after shaking helps keep the bubbles crisp and lively.
  • Muddle the cucumber and lime gently to release fresh flavor without making the drink bitter.
  • Use fresh ice to keep the cocktail cold and refreshing without watering it down too quickly.
  • Double-strain the cocktail if desired to remove pulp and cucumber bits for a smoother sip.
  • Chill the glass beforehand to help the cocktail stay cold longer.
