Equipment

  • 9x13 baking dish

Ingredients

  • 42 oz. apple pie filling
  • 13.25 oz. yellow cake mix
  • ½ c. caramel bits
  • 1 c. unsalted butter

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray.
  • Spread the apple pie filling evenly across the bottom of the dish.
  • Sprinkle the caramel bits over the pie filling.
  • Evenly distribute the cake mix on top.
  • Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in 30-second intervals and stirring until fully melted.
  • Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix, covering as evenly as possible.
  • Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the cobbler is bubbly and the top is golden brown.
  • Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

  • Using good-quality apple pie filling enhances the flavor, but you can also make your own for a more personal touch.
  • To prevent dry spots in the cake mix, drizzle the melted butter as evenly as possible, using a spoon for better precision if needed.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to three days, and reheat individual servings in the microwave for a quick treat.
  • Sprinkling cinnamon, nutmeg, or apple pie spice over the filling or cake mix adds an extra layer of warmth and flavor.
  • Serving the dump cake with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream takes this dessert to the next level.
