The Perfect Evening in Johnson City, Tennessee: A Guide
While I would recommend that you stay longer than an evening in Johnson City, I also understand that we often only have an afternoon + evening in a location. With that in mind, I created the perfect itinerary:
1. Drinks at Yee-Haw Brewing: 126 Buffalo St. Johnson City, TN 37604

There's no better place to kick off your afternoon than Yee-Haw Brewing Company.
Yee-Haw Brewing Company started in downtown Johnson City in 2015; in just a few short years, they positioned themselves as a powerhouse of the region. You'll be impressed with the variety in their beers, as they offer a taste for all palates.
Oh, and if you need a snack while at Yee-Haw, fear not: located in the distillery is the White Duck Taco Shop, which serves everything from Korean Beef Bulgogi to Jamaican Jerk Chicken to Bangkok Shrimp tacos.
2. Dine at Gourmet & Company: 214 Mountcastle Dr. Johnson City, TN 37601
After having a drink at Yee-Haw, you must have dinner at Gourmet & Company! Locally owned by the same restauranteurs for 30 years, Gourmet & Company is a Johnson City legacy. They have set the tone for the dining scene in the city -- and while I entered with high expectations, they were met and surpassed.
The menu at Gourmet & Company is seasonal and rotational; they incorporate fresh, organic ingredients into their dishes, while also utilizing local ingredients when in season.

Diners can enjoy dishes from the likes of charcuterie boards, seared diver scallops, fried chicken, filet, and veal medallions. I had a rich, decadent lobster entree + a salad topped with fried goat cheese balls, both of which were phenomenal.
Gourmet & Company also has an expansive cocktail list + wine selection (with great flights!), if you are looking for another libation with dinner.

3. End Your Night at the Carnegie Hotel/Wellington's: 1216 W State of Franklin Rd. Johnson City, TN 37604
When in Johnson City, end your night (and stay!) at the Carnegie Hotel. A luxury hotel, the Carnegie provides the perfect mix of modern amenities + classic southern charm.
After your delicious meal at Gourmet and Company, you'll need a night cap and potentially dessert. Look no further than Wellington's, which is located inside the hotel. Order the bananas foster!
Enjoy your perfect evening in Johnson City, Tennessee -- my guess is that once you visit, you'll plan to return for a longer stay!
Y’all come back now, ya hear?
My best,
JC

The city leaders have made the right steps with the flooding mitigation and green space in downtown. Continue the course and Johnson City will have no rival among the tricities.
