Must Try Foods In Pigeon Forge

Aug 6, 2020 · Modified: Sep 9, 2021 by JCP

Hey, y'all! I know many Kentuckians travel down to Pigeon Forge -- and why wouldn't we? There's something to do for everyone! As such, I try to make my way down there to get into some of the restaurants (I mean, I must do research, ya know?). I've been twice in the last six months and I have been, to understate, sufficiently fed. That's why I'm coming to y'all with my recent Must Try Foods In Pigeon Forge; while this list is not all-encompassing, stay tuned for more deliciousness out of Sevier County!

For more information on Pigeon Forge, visit their official website.

This is a commissioned post on behalf of Pigeon Forge Tourism; however, as always, all opinions are my own. Regarding the Pigeon Forge attractions & businesses mentioned in this blog, please check their respective websites for an update on their COVID-19 operational updates.

Must Try Foods In Pigeon Forge

I. Fried Okra, Paula Deen's Family Kitchen

131 The Island Dr #8101, Pigeon Forge, TN 37863

Located at The Island, Paula Deen's Family Kitchen is a fantastic place to visit when you have an appetite. The menu is served family style and is all you can eat, minus appetizers. Choose between an array of sides and between 2-3 meats. While it's not included in the all-you-can-eat options, I absolutely recommend that you try the fried okra. It's flavorful, perfectly breaded, and a southern staple as far as I am concerned. While I've had fried okra in many restaurants south of the Mason-Dixon Line, I think Paula Deen's is the best.

II. N'awlins Style BBQ Shrimp, Local Goat

2167 Parkway, Pigeon Forge, TN 37863

My favorite dish in all of Pigeon Forge. The N'awlins Style BBQ Shrimp is a classic dish -- but, it doesn't have any BBQ sauce. Generally made with butter, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and spices -- it is sinfully delicious. I order it every time I find it on a menu and Local Goat's version gets 2 thumbs up from me.

Order the full pound, you'll thank me afterwards.

III. Margarita, Changes In Latitudes Bar at the Margaritaville Island Hotel

131 The Island Dr Suite 5118, Pigeon Forge, TN 37863

Located in the lobby of the beautiful Margaritaville Island Hotel (more on that later), the Changes In Latitudes Bar is a great spot to stop and have an adult beverage. If you are an island lover like me - more specially, a Parrothead - this is the place for you. And when you're in a Jimmy Buffett bar, you have to order a margarita.

IV. Fried Shrimp, Timberwood Grill

If visiting The Island, and I absolutely recommend that you do, hop down to Timberwood Grill for fried shrimp. Butterflied, perfectly fried, and served with the most delicious cocktail sauce -- they are finger-lickin' good.

V. Famous Cinnamon Bread, Dollywood

2700 Dollywood Parks Blvd, Pigeon Forge, TN 37863

I would argue that Dollywood is equally famous for their food and amusement park entertainment. While I don't ride rides, I still love going to the park -- but, I go solely to eat. The Cinnamon Bread is the most iconic offering in the park and it is simply delectable. You can have it plain or served with either icing or apple butter on the side.

Located at the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, Pigeon Forge is not only a place for outdoor enthusiasts and family travelers -- it's a place for foodies.

Y'all come back now, ya hear?

My best,

JC
