Hey, y'all! It’s Derby Season — and as we are entering the final stretch, I’m excited to share several recipes here on the blog for you to enjoy at your Kentucky Derby Party! To kick things off this week, I’m going to be sharing cocktails that will be perfect accompaniments to your 2021 Derby Experience. All are tried and true Kentucky drinks and are simply delicious! Today I’m sharing a classic: a Kentucky Mule with Ale-8-One! If you love Ale-8 — this is the perfect cocktail recipe for you!

Kentucky Mule with Ale-8-One: Kentucky Derby Party Cocktails
JC's note: The Kentucky Mule is a take on the ever-popular Moscow Mule. The secret? Subbing bourbon for vodka (which, as we all know here in the Bluegrass State, is superior). My Kentucky Mule is nontraditional in that I also sub Ale-8-One in place of Ginger Beer to give it an extra kick of Kentucky flavor!

So easy and so refreshing, y’all — I know all at your Kentucky Derby Party will love the Kentucky Mule with Ale-8-One!
About Ale-8-One
Launched in July of 1926, Ale-8-One is the only Kentucky-invented soft drink still in existence. It was invented by G. L. Wainscott and was named via one of America’s first slogan contests at the Clark County Fair. “A Late One” – the winning entry – was a pun adopted for its witty description. From that, a Kentucky legacy transpired.

Be sure to pick up the Derby-themed pack of Ale-8 at your local store!
Enjoy + cheers, y’all!
Y’all come back now, ya hear?
My best,
JC
