Hey, y'all! Last week, I had the chance to attend the final Wine Dinner Series of the summer at Swizzle in Louisville, Kentucky. It was a wonderful dining experience from start to end - each course was expertly-curated and paired with delicious wine. I want to commend the kitchen and the organizers of the event for top-notch execution. I'm hoping they bring back the series next summer; that said, get excited: they are launching a Bourbon Dinner Series in the fall (but more on that later). To understate: the Wine Dinner Series at Swizzle was a night to remember!

Wine Dinner Series At Swizzle: Louisville, Kentucky
The amuse-bouche was a perfectly-seared scallop with cauliflower puree, preserved lemon, and chive. It was paired with Kendall Jackson Mendocino Chard.

The first course was tuna tartar, which was my favorite course of the evening. It was perfectly paired with cucumber, avocado, ponzu, spicy mayonnaise, and Stonestreet Sauvignon Blanc.

The second course highlighted grilled meatballs, pomodoro sauce, smoked mozzarella, olive oil, and was served with Arcanum ll Fauno. This course was a crowd favorite.

The main course was a pan-roasted chicken with duck fat fried potatoes, grilled asparagus, and pan jus. The accompanying wine was Ex Post Facto Fauno.

Lastly, for dessert, the infamous Muhammad Ali Bread Pudding with maple syrup and whipped cream. The final drink pairing of the night was Kendall Jackson Vintners Reserve Riesling.
