Hey, y'all! The Commonwealth of Kentucky is chock-full of delicious restaurants - and I'm on a mission to try them all. I was recently invited to lunch at Marcella's Farm to Fork, which is located in Mt. Vernon. The food was incredible + I am excited to tell y'all more about my experience today!

Marcella's Farm to Fork
The food at Marcella's can best be described as down home southern cookin'. On their website, the owner claims to cook food "just like mom" - and I completely agree with that sentiment. Each bite, though I was at a new-to-me restaurant, was familiar; nostalgic; and, above all else, absolutely delicious.
Marcella's name is also important to note: Farm to Fork. This indicates their promise to source the highest quality ingredients for their dishes + local when available. You can taste the difference.
What I Ordered: Marcella's Farm to Fork
My main course at Marcella's was the meatloaf. My friend Tal praised it prior to our arrival and I knew that I had to order it. Though the accolades expressed were high, I must agree: it's the best meatloaf that I have ever put in my mouth.

Along with the meatloaf, I ordered three of my favorite southern foods: collard greens, soup (pinto) beans, and cornbread. That's a holy trifecta as far as I am concerned.

While I was too full for dessert, someone ordered the chocolate pie and I was automatically enamored by the mile-high meringue. I am definitely saving room for dessert when I visit next.

Do you have a Hot Brown?
JCP
Lori, I am not sure if they serve a hot brown -- but would definitely be worth a call to check and see. If they did, I'd bet on it to be delicious!
