Hey, y’all! The Fourth of July is right around the corner; while it is one of my favorite holidays, I love using patriotic decor + constructing red, white, and blue dishes year-round. If you are having a get-together with friends and family, watching fireworks, or attending a cookout this year look no further than this cute, easy recipe. All will love it, as it’s the perfect bite, and you’ll be satisfied knowing that it is a no-cook dish that took just minutes to complete. The key to making these skewers is to use a toothpick instead of an actual skewer. I find that traditional skewers are too long for just fruit; using a toothpick is better relative to individual portions + makes for an easy-to-eat single bite.

Frequently Asked Questions

What toothpicks/skewers should I use?

I recommend using a traditionally-sized wooden toothpick. If you want to take the dish’s patriotism to the next level, use the toothpicks that have red and blue cellophane on the end (my favorites!).

What can I use to represent the white?

To add a different texture + flavor to the skewer, I recommend using mini marshmallows to represent the white.

What fruit should I use?

While a lot of people enjoy using strawberries, I recommend raspberries because they are well-sized for the toothpick and require no cutting/prep. Blueberries are best to represent the blue!
