Deck the halls with boughs of holly –
Fa la la la la, la la la la!
Well, while that is lovely… I’d prefer the hall to be decked out with a fabulous buffet-style brunch. And that, my friends, is happening in Downtown Louisville at Walker’s Exchange. Oh, and did I mention it’s a family affair?
Trust me when I say this: you and your family won’t want to miss this Louisville Tradition. If this is your first year going, you’ll make plans to return – we already have (and none of my party even has children!).
Located at the newly-renovated and opened Walker’s Exchange on the second floor of West Tower of the Galt House Hotel, Brunch With Santa features a full-service brunch, an Elf School, a train, and Santa himself!
The halls of the restaurant were a winter wonderland. If you aren’t in the spirit prior to walking in, you will be.
In my personal opinion, most family-centered events cut corners on the food. I understand that it’s hard to cater to all demographics at the same time; however, Walker’s Exchange did just that. Brioche French toast, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, hash brown casserole, chicken & waffles, cinnamon rolls, bagels, muffins, biscuits and gravy, and house-made hot chocolate with house-made marshmallows and peppermint sticks. The best part? Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, Oysters on the Half-Shell, Mini Crepes, and Macarons. Hungry yet? Just note this: I didn’t even list everything!
Oh… and mimosas! While additional, they are a vital piece to a successful brunch in my book.
After having brunch, kids are welcome to venture to Elf School, where they can see what it’s like to live at the North Pole. We’re talking reindeer games, making crafts with some of Santa’s elves, and even taking a ride on the Peppermint Express Train!
Cost: $38 for adults (ages 12 and up), $15 children (ages 5-11), and children 4 and under are free and do not require a ticket.
Pictures with Santa are available at an additional fee, either purchased ahead of time as an add-on to your ticket order, or purchased at the event.
Oh, to be a kid again…
However, in full honesty… I did take a photo with Santa! I’ll be sure to post it when I receive it.
I’m just hoping that I end up on the Nice List…
As always: Happy Eating, Happy Traveling, Happy Living!
Y’all come back now, ya hear?
