Malone’s, which is a faction of Bluegrass Hospitality Group in Lexington, is one of my go-to restaurants when I am in the 859. There’s something about it — you just know what you are going to get when you walk in the door. Fantastic service, top-tier food, and a dining experience that will leave all at the table, to say the least, satisfied.
Did you know that less than two-percent of the beef processed in the world is rated as “prime beef”? At Malone’s, that’s what you get – always. Steak is something that I rarely order out, but it’s a must-order there for me. The price point, given the quality, cannot be rivaled. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
Since 1998, Malone’s has been serving the Lexington community; while I was born before then, I cannot remember a time in my life that Malone’s has not been a part of. I’ve celebrated special occasions, birthdays, and accomplishments there; I’ve also had many a “treat yourself!” evening there, too. To be honest, it is one of the things that I miss most about living in the Lexington-area!
When I visited Keeneland the other day, it was a no brainer that we would end the day with a filet mignon from Malone’s. The only thing that made it better was that I had the opportunity to collaborate with them — what a dream!
Now – the food!
Question: Why doesn’t every meal start with baked potato fondue? That’s a world that I want to live in, y’all.
However, when it comes to appetizers, you cannot beat their jumbo shrimp cocktail. It is my favorite – hands down. When I say that the shrimp are huge, I mean it — I’m talking three bites each. I’m drooling just at the memory!
Last, but not least, the Calipari – a 8 or 12 oz filet mignon topped with a fried lobster tail. That is, by my definition, the meaning of luxe. Divine!
