Blissful Relaxation, Louisville, KY

August 29, 2018

Hey, y’all!

I was recently invited to Blissful Relaxation Float & Spa Center here in Louisville, KY. A first time floater, I was a tad apprehensive. Would I feel claustrophobic? Is it worth the hype? Would I reap any benefits?

The fabulous owners carefully and thoughtfully answered all of my questions, assured me, and made me so excited for the experience.

Walking into the room, I was flabbergasted — the facility was gorgeous! Every detail – from the high-end flooring, to the shower, to the robes, to the flotation rooms – was meticulously thought about. It was clear that the owners put their heart and soul into this place; which, to me, is what makes Louisville special. It’s a city – a community – that is chock-full of people following their passions, utilizing their skills, and making this a fantastic place to call home.

I’m inclined to believe that we are a pretty special place – and I’m so glad Blissful Relaxation is a part of our community now!

Before you start your experience, you shower, removing the oils from your hair and body. This was truly relaxing in and of itself; you are secluded in a private room and accompanied by beautiful, calming music.

At flotation spas, it is typical for you to float in a pod. This was my main concern – I’m 6’4″ and plus-sized. However, if you go to Blissful Relaxation, this is not of concern. It’s more of a flotation room.

In the room, I – being my size and having long arms – was able to fully stretch out my arms and barely touch the sides of the wall. To understate, this is a huge area. You have the option to close the door for full sensory deprivation or you can leave it open if you are more comfortable. I chose to close it and it was, hands down, the most relaxing 90 minutes of my life.

I left the spa feeling relaxed — but, to an abnormal extent. Never in my life has my body felt so in tune with itself; never have I been so at peace; never have I felt such inner tranquility.

Before leaving, there is a room where you can get ready/fix your hair if you have other things to do during the day; there is also a lounge with water and tea to help you reacclimatize with your surroundings.

Thank you, Blissful Relaxation, for hosting my group for an evening of relaxation. I’ll be back! Do yourself a favor and go check it out for yourself!

They can be visited at 1200 E. Oak St., Louisville, KY 40204 and reached at (502)-434-7133. Check them out on Facebook, Instagram, and on their website! Be sure to tell them that I sent ya.

As always, Happy Eating, Happy Traveling, Happy Living!

Y’all come back now, ya hear?

My best,
