More Than Your Average

Hey, y’all!

Did you know that 1 in 5 Kentucky children lack consistent access to enough food for a healthy, active lifestyle, especially throughout the summer months?

I’ve teamed up with some of my favorite Kentucky Bloggers, under the lead of the fabulous Mya Price, to help combat this issue. Mya, also known as More Than Your Average, has organized a coalition to combat childhood hunger in the Lexington, KY area.

The goal of the More Than Your Average T-Shirt Campaign is to feed more children throughout the months in which they are most often hungry by giving half of the proceeds raised through this t-shirt campaign to God’s Pantry, Lexington’s local food bank. With the purchase of a More Than Your Average t-shirt, we as a community will help in the fight against summer hunger.

Additionally, this campaign shirt projects a powerful message in that it encourages us to think about how we are ‘More Than Your Average’ in our lives, passions, and professions.

The message behind the campaign means a lot to me. For one, growing up as a gay male in a Southern Kentucky county was – at times – not the easiest. I often felt ostracized, disenfranchised, left out. Additionally, being a plus-size individual in the social media industry – and one on the upper end of the plus-size scale at that – brings its own set of difficulties. In all of this, I’ve had to maintain faith.

Faith that I was – and am – enough.

Faith that I am worthy.

Faith that I am deserving.

Faith that my unique intersections are something to celebrate.

Faith that I am More Than Your Average.

Thank you, Mya, for helping other people realize this. It took me years — but, we are all stronger together.

The shirt can be ordered up to a 4XL, which I love – you can purchase it here!Use code MTYAENDHUNGER for free shipping!

As always, Happy Eating, Happy Traveling, Happy Living!

Y’all come back now, ya hear?

My best,
