One of the things that I am most known for is the fact that I love Kentucky – I live and breathe for this Commonwealth. Hell, I even tattooed the state outline on my body!
On that note, I am so proud to formally announce another series here on JCP Eats today: The Kentucky Counties Challenge!
Kentucky is diverse. Northern, Southern, Central, Eastern, and Western Kentucky could not be any more different. They all add to the beauty of our Commonwealth, yet come to the table with different perspectives and talents.
My Kentucky? Kentucky, to me, is soup beans and cornbread. It’s a beautiful suit, a bow tie, a strong drink, and a winning bet. It’s the yee-haw and your mee-maw. It’s the milk and the honey; the closest to Beulah, sweet Beulah land that you can get. It’s pones of cornbread, PaPaw’s pipe. It’s the coal mines and the Louisville skyline. It’s the artisans, the farmers, the movers, the shakers. It’s my home – and the Kentucky County Challenge is going to give me a set, curated platform to share it with all y’all.
While in law school, I am vowing to visit all 120 counties in Kentucky. From Paducah to Hazard, the Tennessee border to the Ohio River – I’m going to meet people, share the culture of the county, provide a traveler’s guide, and where to eat (obviously)!
I hope y’all will follow along.
As always, Happy Eating, Happy Traveling, Happy Living!
Y’all come back now, ya hear?
