I was lucky to be invited to a media event this morning with Top Round Roast Beef here in Louisville, KY! The best part? To celebrate Derby Week, we kicked it off by having horses visit the drive-thru!
The founders of Top Round are chefs. According to their website, “We started Top Round because we wanted a place to get good, wholesome food, fast. Growing up in cities like St. Louis and Buffalo, we remember old school roast beef sandwiches– they tasted great, and they were never made from mystery meat.”
They continue, “At Top Round, what you’re eating is real food, made in-store by folks who care. Each Top Round has a real kitchen. We prepare meats and veggies, cut french fries, and make sauces in that very kitchen.”
The only thing that is frozen at Top Round is the custard – everything else is, at most, housed in a cooler. It’s all fresh – and delicious!
How to get a free sandwich this Friday and Saturday in Louisville?
To celebrate Derby 144, the first 144 people on Oaks Friday and Derby Saturday that show the workers a photo of a horse, have an article of clothing on with a horse, show a tattoo of a horse, etc will receive a free Horse & Hole Roast Beef Sandwich.
Trust me, y’all — this is delicious! Roast Beef + Cheese + Sauteed Mushrooms + Horseradish Cream (awesome!) on a sesame bun.
Visit them in St. Matthews at 4214 Shelbyville Rd, Louisville, KY 40207 – tell them that I sent ya!
As always, Happy Eating, Happy Traveling, Happy Living!
Y’all come back now, ya hear?
