Many of the blessings in my life have roots to Jude, my grandmother – for my friend Jennifer Upchurch Edwards, and the accompanying story, the same can be said.
Y’all! Once again, I get to partner with an amazing business owned by a friend today! If you know me well, you understand how exciting this collaboration is because of my obsession with succulents/cacti.
When asked what I love about Kentucky/why I love Kentucky so much, I always include that I adore the amazing, talented people that call it home. Jennifer is no exception; in fact, she’s the epitome. From mom -> attorney -> judge -> business owner, the person behind the Succulent Shoppe has a variety of skills and experiences.
Jennifer’s love of succulents began as a hobby picked up from her Grandma Stephens. There was a plant that always sat in the window above her sink (Donkey’s Tail Sedum, sedum morganianum) that perpetually survived, despite minimal care. The love – and curiosity – bloomed right then and there.
As her succulent collection began growing, she was able to divide and repot several varieties; from there, the Succulent Shoppe was born. Today, the Succulent Shoppe creates unique arrangements housed in vintage and found items. Two items are rarely the same, which is one of the aspects that makes the shop so special.
Currently, you can find the Succulent Shoppe at pop-ups in area markets; furthermore, they deliver in the Lake Cumberland area. Y’all – this would be the perfect arrangement to send in memoriam or as a birthday/anniversary/wedding gift. However, if you are like me, a succulent arrangement is appropriate for treating yourself on a day that ends in Y. Can I get an amen?!
Shipping is a goal in the near future; until that becomes a reality, orders can be placed via DM on their Instagram page (@succulentshoppe) or via email (email@example.com). You can also check them out on FB!
Y’all come back now, ya hear?
